What are Flushes and which flush should I buy?Updated 5 months ago

Experience the nuanced beauty of tea through its three major Flushes – Spring (1st Flush), Summer (2nd Flush), and Autumn Flush, complemented by two unique in-between Flushes: Monsoon and Winter.

Each flush unveils a distinct tapestry of taste, aroma, and color in both the liquor and leaves. The first growth post dormancy, known as the first flush, occurs between late February to mid-April or early March through mid-April, depending on the location. Also referred to as the Easter Flush or the Spring Flush, it stands as the pinnacle of the growing season, commanding high regard and prices from tea enthusiasts. Tender leaves and new shoots are meticulously plucked, encapsulating the essence of freshness.

Following a brief dormancy period, the Second Flush emerges, regardless of the presence of 'in-between' harvests. Spanning from May to June, these tea leaves embody a well-rounded, fruity, and mature flavour profile. The resulting brew is characterized by brightness and a distinctive muscatel character, making it an exquisite accompaniment to raspberry, scones, and other delicacies. The second flush is less astringent, showcasing an improved and slightly sweet taste that captures the essence of this refined tea season.

Embrace the diversity of flavours as you delve into the world of tea, where each flush tells a unique story of growth and harvest, promising an unparalleled sensory experience.
